Insight Into the Book Journal

When TikTok first came out, I got sucked into #booktok and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve found so many amazing recommendations and I’ve read more independently published books than ever! While book journals kept popping up on my feed, I never took the time to create a journal myself because I just wasn’t into reviewing books. I spent my days reviewing manuscripts for authors so the thought of sitting down to write out a book review for myself seemed extremely tiring. But then I saw people doing trackers for their books and I thought hey, that’s something I like to do! I love gathering data so I decided to try and find a journal where I could take down all my notes.

I couldn’t find one.

I wanted a journal that kept track of the different countries I read books in. A journal where I could color in different states that books took place in. Where I could write down who my favorite characters were and who I shipped.

After a few weeks of searching and no luck, I decided to create my own.

Originally the journal started as a Canva document that I then uploaded to Barnes & Noble press to order one copy for myself. I started posting about it on my personal TikTok page and people asked where to buy it from! I already had an Etsy account so I uploaded the files there for people intersted in digital versions!

As I used my journal, I realized that I read SO many more books because I couldn’t wait to fill out my trackers! Since people kept asking about the physical versions of the book journal, I finally launched the physical version here at The Reading Chamber!

The journal is split up into the twelve months. For each month you’ll have 8 book logs featuring spaces to fill out book stats like page count, publisher, when it was first published, how long it was on your TBR, if there are any movie/tv show adaptations etc. There are then list pages for your favorite characters, least favorite characters, ranking the covers, and ranking the books. In addition to those monthly pages, you’ll have sections for keeping track of the series you’re reading, what states, countries, and kingdoms your books took place in, brackets to determine your favorite book and cover of the year and more!

The journal can be started at any point in the year so make sure you pick up your copy today!
