Hello there!
My name is Jess Taylor and I started The Reading Chamber after working in the hybrid publishing space for over six years. I’ve loved books since I was very young, but diving into the YA space at age eleven opened up a whole new world to me. I was reading three books a week and couldn’t get enough of authors like Sarah Dessen and Meg Cabot. It only made sense to pursue publishing as my career!
After getting my creative writing degree and publishing certificate from University of North Carolina Wilmington, I got a job in acquisitions at Amplify Publishing Group and absolutely fell in love with helping authors figure out their publishing journeys. The Reading Chamber has been my dream for a long time and combines my passion of advocating for independently published authors, supporting small businesses, and championing wonderful young adult books. I hope you enjoy this store as much as I do!

Meet Chandler!
He is my mini Bernedoodle who is the best office dog ever. He absolutely adores belly rubs, chewing leaves, and his Lamb Chop toy. He spends his days on neighborhood watch duty and keeping me company as I organize books.
